About
A winter wellness experience on the water
We offer a unique outdoor wellness experience in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield: floating saunas with cold plunges, inspired by Scandinavian traditions. From October to May, discover a new way to enjoy the waterfront and take in the views of Lake Saint-François.
Already a popular concept in Nordic countries, our mission is to make the benefits of sauna accessible to everyone, in a welcoming, rejuvenating, and affordable environment.
We are Alexandra, from Coteau-du-Lac, and Axel, from Oslo, Norway — where the floating sauna culture is a part of everyday life. Together, we want to share this Nordic tradition in the heart of Valleyfield, inviting everyone to slow down and reconnect with what truly matters.
The Experience
Our concept is built on the powerful contrast between heat and cold — an old tradition that has become a modern wellness movement. Our facilities include:
Two floating Finnish saunas for up to six people, with direct lake views;
A safe cold plunge area for refreshing immersion;
An outdoor relaxation space to unwind between hot and cold cycles.
Each session lasts 75 minutes and is available as a public or private experience, depending on your preference.
heated dome
Want to make your experience on the water last a little longer?
Book our heated floating dome, designed for comfort and connection.
It can host up to six people for an apéro on the water and under the stars — either after your sauna session or as a standalone experience.
The Classic Sauna Cycle

The Classic Sauna Cycle *
Step 1. Hot Sauna (5–15 minutes)
-
The dry, radiant heat raises your core body temperature, encourages sweating, and relaxes your muscles. As your pores open, your body begins its natural detox process. This phase relieves tension, promotes mental clarity, and prepares you for the invigorating contrast that follows.
Step 2. Cold Plunge or Shower (1–3 minutes)
Leaving the warmth of the sauna, you step outside into the fresh air and immerse yourself in cold water—or take a refreshing cold shower. This sudden change stimulates blood circulation, strengthens the immune system, and triggers a powerful endorphin release. It is both energizing and revitalizing.
Step 3. Cool-Down & Rest (2–5 minutes)
After the plunge, you allow your body to stabilize. Dry off, breathe deeply, and relax in a calm environment. This period gives your heart rate and temperature time to return to balance, preventing overheating. It is also a perfect moment for hydration.
Step 4. Repeat the CyclE
_
The sauna ritual works best when repeated 3–4 times. Each round deepens relaxation, enhances circulation, and reinforces the sense of renewal. Many choose to finish with a final cold plunge, leaving the body invigorated and refreshed.
The benefits
Contrast therapy (alternating hot and cold) offers numerous scientifically proven benefits:
Improved blood circulation and reduced risk of cardiovascular disease;
Stronger immune system and faster muscle recovery;
Reduced stress and better mood, thanks to the effects on serotonin and dopamine;
Brain protection, with a lower risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia;
A social ritual
The sauna is more than a moment of relaxation — it’s a social ritual that brings people together.
A place to reconnect, share stories, laugh, and challenge each other.
A warm alternative to bars and restaurants, perfect for breaking winter isolation.
And above all, a new way to embrace winter, rather than hide from it.
